Rise of the Runelords
Greel, The Shaper
Arcanist. Archaeologist. Scoundrel.
“The man who believes that the secrets of the world are forever hidden lives in mystery and fear. Superstition will drag him down."
As the group has adventured together, Greel has begun to shed many of his old traits. No longer constantly slouching, when walking throughout Sandpoint his full 6’2" stature makes him notably taller the average townsperson. Furthermore, he has recently replaced his old robe with custom-made outfits in the Varisian style, if not with the same patchwork approach to colors. Tattoos of a mystical third eye and additional iconography adorn his face, while runes of a more bestial theme run down both arms.
Unlike the runic nature of the rest, a tattoo of a barghest head impaled upon a bastard sword is also on his upper right arm.
Previously serving as a hedge mage and fortune teller for the town of Sandpoint, Greel has largely discarded both roles as adventuring with the rest of the gang takes up more and more of his time. Jovial and often impulsive, he often comes across as more of a con man than a wizard. However, his obvious talent with magic makes it clear that not only is Greel an accomplished transmuter, but that he not yet reached the limits of his abilities.
“I’m beginning to understand why my parents never really delved into elven culture, if Hyacinth is any indication. There is a method to her actions, but for the life of I don’t think anyone else can follow it. And now these murders…”

“I understand why Muireadhach favors the human. You can’t fault a sword any more for not being a shield than you can fault Wil for not being intelligent. He’s like most of his kind, and once you accept it…”

“He reminds me of some of my old friends back home. Crazy, not to be left alone, but they were the ones you wanted at your back when everything went wrong. And with the way our luck seems to run, that’s a common occurrence.”
